Few watch brands return to motorsport as often as TAG Heuer, but the best models do not need a racing logo on the dial to make that connection clear.

The Carrera, Monaco and Formula 1 each approach the subject differently.

The Carrera began as a chronograph built around legibility. Modern versions can be far more elaborate, but case proportions, subdial spacing and a clear relationship between normal time and chronograph information remain central to the design.

Recent Carrera Chronograph Sport models are a good example. Reducing the case from 44mm to 42mm sounds like a modest change, yet it affects the balance of the entire watch. That kind of adjustment is often more important in daily use than another new dial colour.

The Monaco is different. Its square case, left field proportions and association with motorsport history make it instantly recognisable even before the dial details are considered.

The Formula 1 collection tends to be younger and more experimental, while the Aquaracer takes TAG Heuer away from the race track and into straightforward sports and diving watch territory.
